Take part in a “Common Threads” poetry discussion hosted by poets Barry Hellman and Kaimi Rose Lum at Snow Library in Orleans. This interactive event allows participants to engage with poetry in an easy, comfortable manner, hear poems read aloud, discuss how they connect with them and how they are crafted. Using a unique anthology of work by poets with a MA connection, selected by a guest editor and published by Mass Poetry, a non-profit dedicated to broadening the audience for poetry. Robert Pinsky pens the opening essay on “How to Read a Poem.” Copies of the poems will be available at Snow Library starting March 1.
Join us for a celebration of the blooms of Spring with new floral paintings from Kathy Anderson, Jenny Kelley, Christopher Pierce and Loren DiBenedetto. An artist demonstration featuring award-winning artist Jenny Kelley will take place on Saturday, April 28 from 1to 3p.m. She will paint a floral, explaining the process to her audience. A BFA graduate of Rhode Island School of Design and member of the Copley Society of Art and Signature Member of American Women Artists, Kelley’s work has been shown in prestigious shows and competitions nationwide.
