Specifically designed for first-time homebuyers, the course is certified by the MA Homeownership Collaborative, CHAPA, HUD and MassHousing. Part I:  Visioning Attend this workshop and decide whether starting your own business is right for you. As part of this workshop, you will: Explore the process and learn about the risks and rewards of starting up your own business Conduct a self-assessment that will help you decide if business ownership is right for you Hear success stories of women who have worked with CWE and are now thriving in the business world Get an overview of various resources at CWE and elsewhere to help you move forward with your business idea and succeed Part II:  Business Planning Do you have an idea for a business that you want to launch or explore more deeply? Have you always dreamed of becoming an entrepreneur, but were never sure just where to start? This course will help you take the necessary steps to becoming an independent business owner, while gaining confidence in yourself and your ability to manage a small business. Over the course of 5 weeks, you will: Explore and assess the financial and market viability of your business concept Learn how to market yourself and your business to target customers Explore options for start-up funding and ongoing costs Build a network of fellow entrepreneurs that can support you in launching and growing your new enterprise This class meets twice a week for five weeks.  At the end of the 5 weeks, you will leave with a completed business plan to guide you in the start and growth of your company. No previous experience or education in business management required, but access to a comput-er and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is strongly recommended.
