Basic Manners Dog Training -Leverett
Basic Manners Dog Training: Five weekly lessons beginning March 4th ending April 1st. Dog must be friendly around or ignore other dogs and people in class. We’ll help you teach your dog to: Be relaxed and settled near you Greet visitors politely Walk attentively on a leash Come when you call Sit, down, stay Leave items alone on your cue And more! Instruction includes types of tools and methods to train your dog be an even more mannerly and enjoyable part  of your family. This includes basic obedience cues and how to apply them in practical, real life situations. Proof of rabies vaccination is required to register.  *For registration questions, please email kbegnoche@dakinhumane.org Discount Codes: If any of these discounts apply, enter them under "Enter Promotional Code" during registration. ADPT-Dog -10% discount is offered to dogs adopted from Dakin, TJO Shelter, or any other adoption agency. Proof of adoption required at first class. USMilitary -10% discount is offered to US Military (Active, Reserve, or retired) *One discount code per ticket.   Dog Training Program Policies Vaccinations All dogs must be current on rabies and other vaccinations prior to the starting their first class. Puppies are only required to have their first series of vaccines.  You will need to show proof of vaccination at your first class. Class Cancellations If the minimum enrollment for a class is not met 2 days before the class, the class may be cancelled. We will contact enrolled participants 2 days before the first session to notify of the cancellation. Paid participants will have the option of enrolling in an alternative class, receiving credit toward a future class, or receiving a full refund. Refund Policy We will refund your class fee if you cancel in writing 3 days before the class starts. Enrollments within 3 days of the class are not eligible for refunds for any reason. A dog that is overly reactive or unruly during class may be asked to leave class, at the trainer’s discretion. Dogs actively in heat may also be asked to leave class. If either of these scenarios were to occur you may have the option to attend a private session, enroll in a later class, or receive a partial refund.   All refund requests must be made in writing & emailed to our office at kbegnoche@dakinhumane.org or by calling us at (413) 781-4000 x 117.

Intermediate Manners for Adult Dogs -Leverett

Intermediate Manners Dog Training (like High School and Community College for Dogs): Five weekly lessons beginning March 11th, ending on April 8th.  Dog must be friendly around or ignore other dogs and people in class.  Dog should have some skills in basic obedience cues such as sit, down, stay, leash walking, & be able to pay attention to you! Take your dog’s Manners and training to the next level! Exercises will be combined to create more real life situations (for example, perform with distractions, walk nicely on leash past temptations, come to you from greater distances, respond appropriately to door bell and knocking sounds).  And more! Puppy and Beyond -Leverett

Puppy and Beyond (Puppy Kindergarten through Basic Manners, two in one!):   Eight weekly lessons beginning March 18th, ending May 6th, for puppy ages 8-16 weeks at start of class. We’ll help you teach your pup how to: Respond to basic obedience cues (e.g., sit, down, stay, come!, greet politely, walk nicely on leash, leave items alone on your cue, and be relaxed and settled near you) Be comfortable with handling Be comfortable around other people and new things Play nicely with other pups And more! Part of each session will also include:  Socialization:  how to introduce puppy to new things and experiences, handling/grooming/husbandry, understanding puppy’s body language communications, and much more! Tips and troubleshooting common puppy behaviors such as houstraining, nipping, jumping, and chewing. Sessions may include supervise puppy play to give your pup positive social experiences with other pups while you learn to read signs of good play and when and how to intervene productively.
