Amahl and the Night Visitors

In this warm and compassionate story, composer Gian Carlo Menotti has captured the essential spirit of Christmas. The story tells of the night the Three Kings, following the star to Bethlehem, stop for shelter at the home of Amahl, a poor, crippled shepard boy who lives with his widowed mother. Inspired by the Wise Men's tale of a kingdom "built on love alone," Amahl offers his own simple gift to the Christ Child. And then a miracle happens. . . This brand new production is fully staged and costumed, and features emerging professional singers from MA and New Hampshire. Sponsored by The United Parish of Upton, these performances are part of a new initiative to reach out beyond our doors through music, to create something inspiring and enjoyable for the broader community. The music is beautiful, and the story is filled with humor, drama, hope and inspiration. With it's title character being a child, this story has great appeal to children as well as adults. Creative Team: Director/Producer/Vocal Coach - Susan Bonito Music Director/Accompanist - Wayne Ward Choreographer - Nicole Flaherty Set Designer - Leanne Luetkemeyer Cast: Amahl - Jenna Meleedy, Natalie Dudko Mother - Mauri Tetreault, Stephanie Kreutz King Melchior - Thaddeus Bell, Marco Bonito King Caspar - Eric Balboni, Rich Perkins King Balthazar - RaShaun Campbell Page - Paul Conway Principal Dancers - Matthew Bliss, Cyndi Bliss
