About Aquinnah, MA
The Town of Aquinnah (formally known as Gay Head) was founded in 1870 and is located in Dukes County on the Island of Martha's Vineyard which is south of Cape Cod. Aquinnah is the only community in Massachusetts that continues to have Indian presence in the 20th century.

The most beautiful and outstanding natural feature of the town is the display of multicolored clay cliffs known as Aquinnah Cliffs which spill down into the sea on the border of the town.

The town also has a historic light house known as Aquinnah Light located near the Aquinnah Cliffs that was considered the "strongest light on the northeast seaboard".
