Moonlight Walk for Woodcock

Join Manomet and Wildlands Trust staff in enjoying one of the first signs of spring: the epic display of the American Woodcock! After a harsh winter, it is often hard to believe that spring will ever come again! Fortunately, in the northeast our friend the American Woodcock acts as one of the first signs of warmer weather to come. Although they are actually shorebirds, the Woodcock displays in damp fields in the spring before nesting in the woods. The unique springtime display of the woodcock has earned it such colorful nicknames as ‘Labrador twister’ and ‘timberdoodle’. What is this display like? You’ll just have to come on our walk to find out!  Space is limited! Tickets must be purchased in advance. Dress warmly and bring your flashlight! Ages 7+. No pets, please.  Snow/rain date Sunday April 1.
