About Buzzards Bay, MA
Buzzards Bay is located in southern Massachusetts along the north western side of the Cape Cod Canal. The tidal salt water bay is bordered on its entire east side by the towns of Upper Cape Cod and on its entire west side by 6 towns in southernmost Massachusetts. Buzzards Bay was established by Congress in 1985 as an "Estuary of National Significance".
The bay is home to many water and land recreational activities. On the water they include sailing and fishing, swimming and sunbathing. On the vast land surrounding Buzzards Bay you can visit State Forests and Reservations and take part in field trips based on nature and environmental studies. There are also numerous hiking and bike trails that lead to the bay from all of the surrounding communities.
