Fitchburg Massachusetts is the second largest city in Worcester County but still manages to maintain its small town flavor. Fitchburg is noted for its hilly topography and its old mills along the Nashua River with its tightly knit neighborhoods that still retain their ethnic identity.
Located just 10 miles from New Hampshire and 50 miles from Boston, the city enjoys excellent access via highway or public transportation to all points.
The paper industry was dominated the history but that has given way to a healthier economic diversification that now includes tool and die makers - machine manufacturers – pharmaceuticals - plastic molders and textile producers.
Cultural assets include the Fitchburg Art Museum, Fitchburg State College and the world famous annual Longsjo Classic Bicycle Race.
