INFECTION PREVENTION & CONTROL-2019 In a Dental Healthcare Setting: Evaluating Your Compliance. Presented by: Kathy J. Eklund, RDH MHP Ms. Eklund is the Director of Occupational Health and Safety, and the Forsyth Research Subject and Patient Safety Advocate at the Forsyth Institute. She is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene, MA College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She is also Adjunct Faculty at the Regis College, School of Health Sciences Dental Hygiene Program, where she teaches senior level courses in Evidence-Based Decision Making. Ms. Eklund serves as faculty for the New England AIDS Education and Training Center and HIVdent.org. She is a member of the Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention (OSAP) and current Chair of the OSAP Board of Directors. Ms. Eklund is an author of the CDC Guidelines for Infection Control in Dental Health-Care Settings- 2003 Over the past 34 years, Ms. Eklund has published papers and contributed to several texts on infection control and safety and has lectured nationally and internationally on these topics. Description: The goal of an infection prevention and control program is to prevent health-care associated infections among patients, and injuries and illnesses in healthcare personnel. This presentation will discuss strategies for ensuring compliance with relevant Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and other relevant recommendations, regulations and standards. The CDC Summary of Infection Prevention Practices in Dental Settings Basic Expectations for Safe Care will be used to demonstrate how to monitor and evaluate a site-specific infection prevention and safety program. Companion resources from the Organization for Safety, Asepsis and Prevention (OSAP), will also be shared with participants. Objectives: Upon completion of this program, participants should be able to: Differentiate guidelines, regulations, standards and best practices. Explain the roles and responsibilities of an infection prevention and safety coordinator Describe methods of evaluating an infection prevention and control program for compliance with CDC guidelines, OSHA regulations and relevant state and local regulations.

Were back for the ARC 2018 event # 2 which will be another very special one as we bring youThe Best of Walter Beasley which is the title of his latest CD. Walter is consistently on the smooth jazz charts and remains a premier jazz artist. Walter recently retired from Berklee College of Music after 30 years and moved from MA to Arizona. We are thrilled to bring him back to MA for this event. With a worldwide fan base we know this will be a Sold Out event. The Best of Walter Beasley is currently #19 on the top 50 smooth jazz chart. A sold-out event will also put the endowment scholarship at the $50,000 goal in just shy of 3 years! Also featured during this event will be the soulful vocals of Darcel Wilson and her band. Darcel's sound is engaging and powerful and she will have the audience ready for Walter to take them over the top. The proceeds from this event will be directed to the Armsted R. Christian Scholarship to financially assist selected students that excel at the Berklee College of Music in honor of Armsted R. Christian who was a professor at the prestigious college and also an outstanding jazz musician and vocalist in his own right.
