Celebrating Vermont Filmmaker Nora Jacobson: My Mother's Early Lovers
As part of the celebration of the tenth anniversary of the Shrewsbury Co-op at Pierce’s Store, we’ll be screening a series of Vermont-oriented films in Pierce’s Garage. We are very excited to feature four films by one of Vermont’s top filmmakers, Nora Jacobson, who is best known for The Vermont Movie. Nora has agreed to join us for the viewings, allowing Q&A with the director about her films. We’ll be opening the series on Thursday, June 13th with My Mother’s Early Lovers, Nora’s first feature-length film released in 1998. Based on a diary found by Vermont author Sybil Smith (who was co-writer of the film), the movie centers on a young woman’s exploration of her mother's past, uncovering a secret at the heart of her family's history. NPR called it “a wonderful film...subtle, thoughtful, funny...” Run time is 103 minutes. Attendance is limited to 24 adults.

After the course, we can do 15 minutes of 1:1 consultation over the phone, to answer any specific career-related questions you may have! What our Students say about the Crash-Course...  " After earning my Liberal Arts Degree, I was thinking about learning web-development to boost my career. I was quite unsure about the path I should take as there are so many options and resources. 2-Day Crash course helped me understand exactly what full-stack development is. It was wonderful to connect all the pieces together and finally understand what is going behind real-world websites. I also enjoyed the group activities and quizzes part! They drew the most realistic picture of what full-stack development is all about. It was quite and motivating experience and we felt super-charged after the class. Overall I felt that it was time worth spent and I look forward to doing more advanced courses with DeepDive."                                                                                                             - Jason H. " I thoroughly enjoyed the 2-day crash course on 'Intro to Web and Full-Stack Development'! I liked the way instructors were so enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge and many time went above and beyond to answer our questions or explain complex parts. I felt it was a bit fast-paced for me initially, however, later on, I could pick it up well and it's amazing how much I actually learning in just 2 days. The classroom was spacious and the lunch provided was quite good! I enjoyed the learning experience with other like-minded students and I feel quite passionate about working hard towards my goals now!"                                                                                               - Gitika M. " I am a high-school student. I had watched a few Youtube videos and Udemy courses about basic Web development. There is so much information out there and I was confused about deciding the right technology stack and ways to master those. 2-day Crash course on 'Intro to Web and Full-Stack development' helped me answer all of those! Understanding the basic purpose of all the tool, languages, frameworks and how do they all come together to create the Web-app was the most amazing part for me. Instructors were extremely knowledgeable with 10-15 years of industry experience so we could hear many real-life use cases. I enjoyed learning with other students and made a few good connections for studying together. I received a 25% student discount for the Crash course. It was one of the best learning experience for me for sure."                                                                             - Michael D. " I have solid project management background. I often saw that Web and Full-stack developers are always in high demand and also very hard to find and retain. I was curious to understand what is actually involved in full-stack development and if it is a right field for me to consider. 2-day Crash course on Intro to Web and Full-stack development really helped me get answers to all my lingering questions. I enjoyed lunch/break time discussions with instructors (who were vastly experienced). Our batch had students of various ages and it made our discussions very interesting as we could bring in our different perspectives. Overall, extremely good value for money and time!"   - Armon A. " I am a college graduate and currently working as a Real Estate agent. I always wanted to learn web development for my personal projects and also possibly to take some side gigs to add to my income. I had done some online/virtual training on this but was not being able to find the right path and technologies to invest into. This 2-day crash course helped me understand not just the technology basics but also a complete picture of full-stack development! Some of the real-life examples and tools that we discussed were amazing! I had plenty of 'Aha' moments during the class. This class also revealed how much of hard work and persistence it takes to become a successful developer. Instructors were super nice and the whole experience was quite motivating. Facilitation was quite good as well. The classroom was good with natural light and coffee, light breakfast and lunch were provided. Instructors are responding to my questions even after the crash course is over, which I found to be very nice."          - Raphael J.   Refund Policy   If the class is rescheduled or canceled by the organizer, registered students will be offered a credit towards any future course or a 100% refund. We are passionate about teaching and strive to deliver the best possible quality. If you are not happy with the experience, we will give your money back.
