Cape Poge Lighthouse Tour

Enjoy an over-sand vehicle adventure to the remote Cape Poge Lighthouse. Climb the spiral staircase of the century-old wooden lighthouse and discover intriguing stories of the keepers of the light who watched over these ocean waters. This tour is great for explorers of all ages!

Pre-registration strongly recommended as space is limited.

Make it a day! Explore Mytoi, walk the salt marsh trail or enjoy a picnic on the beach. If you take our pick-up from the Chappy Ferry, we can drop you back off at the ferry before 4 pm. 

Walk on beach fees are waived ($5 for nonmembers, all children 15 and under free) for tour participants. 

Complimentary pick-up is available from The Chappy Ferry for tour participants who pre-register.

Tours start from Mytoi Garden parking lot (Approx 2.5 mile drive/bike from Chappy Ferry). Parking and bike racks are free at Mytoi Garden.

Cape Poge Discovery Kayak

Discover the saltmarsh and coastal ponds of Cape Poge Widllife Refuge with a natural history and engagement ranger in this guided discovery kayak tour. Grab a dip net and explore the saltmarsh ecosystem and local wildlife that call this environment home and see Chappy from a new vantage! Paddle through Poucha Pond, under the Dike Bridge, up the narrow and into Cape Poge Bay!

Please bring: sun block, bug spray, water bottle, a snack if desired, water reistant clothing if desired (you will get wet!), towl if desired.

Weather permitting; will notify of cancellation day of. Appropriate for ages 6+. Children 15 and under must paddle with an adult. 

Meet at Dike Bridge. Complimentary shuttle from Chappy Point to Dike Bridge and back with pre-registration.

Brew Moon Hike

Say “Cheers” on your next adventure through the woodland trail system of Long Point Wildlife Refuge!

As you make your way to the banks of Long Cove Pond, where you will find breathtaking views of the Lily Cove, giving you a sense of truly being where wonder happens. Energized by the fresh salt air, you can enjoy your time getting to know your trail mates while learning about the history of the surrounding area. Continue your conversations as the sun begins to set and the full moon rises over the south shore while sipping some cold brews from a local Vineyard brewery!

This hike is suitable for any experience level.

Poucha Pond Kayak & Paddleboard Self-Guided Discovery

Enjoy the benefits of a Trustees membership while exploring Poucha Pond and the salt marshes of Chappaquiddick by kayak or paddleboard. Take one of our self-guided tours and learn about the local history and wildlife (both adult and family self-guided tours available). 

Trustees Members only at this site. Interested in becoming a Member?! Ask any of our staff at Mytoi or Dike Bridge Gatehouse, and learn all about the benefits of becoming a Trustees Member. 

Kayaks and Paddleboards launch from Dike Bridge gatehouse. Last boat rental is at 3.30PM.

What Matters Most? Planning for Life as Well as Death June 27, 2019, 9 am-4pm The Hebrew Center at Vineyard Haven Pre-registration is required Everyone has a right to health care that reflects his or her values and choices throughout life. This workshop will teach you how to do advance care planning for yourself, your loved ones, and community members. It will also train care providers and professionals to become facilitators for ACP conversations with other individuals and groups interested in end-of-life planning. Here is the Workshop Agenda: 9:00am Check-in 9:30- 9:45  Welcome! Paddy Moore, HAMV Chair, and Holly Bellebuono, HAMV Executive Coordinator 9:45-11:45  “Become a Honoring Choices Health Care Planning Ambassador” Speaker: Ellen DiPaola, Esq, President & CEO, Honoring Choices MA. As a certified Health Care Planning Ambassador, you can start powerful planning conversations with adults anywhere they live, work and gather! You’ll learn to: Help adults complete a MA Health Care Proxy & Personal Directive to start a health care plan  Use the 5 Mass planning documents, including MOLST, to update/add to their plan  Start effective goals of care conversations with family & care providers to get good care in your community 12:00-1:00  Networking Lunch (provided free; donations welcomed) 1-3:00  “Reflect on What Matters Most To You: Values and Planning” Speaker: Patty Webster, MPH, Advisor for Community Engagement, The Conversation Project (TCP). Beach Yoga at Long Cove Pond

Join us on the Vineyard's south shore every Monday evening for Vinyasa Flow on the beach with Josey Kirkland. Take in the salt air, sand, and sounds of the ocean during this outdoor yoga experience.

Please come equipped with a mat, towel & water. All levels welcome!
