Searching For the Lady of the Dunes

Local author Christopher Setterlund will discuss his book Searching for the Lady of the Dunes. For nearly fifty years, the Lady of the Dunes was Cape Cod’s most enduring mystery. Found savagely murdered and mutilated in the remote dunes of Provincetown in 1974 it seemed her identity would be forever unknown. In 2022 she was finally identified as Ruth Marie Terry. This book pulls the curtain back on the Wild West that was Provincetown in the 1960s and 1970s thanks to those who were there at the time.

Anything Goes: America During the Jazz Age

Saturday, April 13th at 11:00 a.m.

Historian and author Christopher Daley will provide an entertaining overview of the 1920s, showcasing world events, political events, prohibition, organized crime as well as the style, fashion and trends of the Jazz Age.

Gardening Program

Thursday, April 25th at 6:00 p.m. 

Master Gardener Patrice Amos with the Master Gardener Association of Cape Cod will host a program about soil preparation.

This program is part of the Jane Lynch Memorial Gardening Series. Jane was the "Plant Lady," and a long-time volunteer at the Dennis Public Library. Her green thumb and beautiful soul were admired by staff and patrons alike. This series is sponsored by Jane's loving husband, Derrell Lynch. Refreshments will be served.

April Artist - Kristin Ranney

April Art Display

Kristin Ranney is a national award winning watercolor artist living on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. She was introduced to painting with watercolors after her step-mother took her to a workshop in 1992. Kristin discovered her passion for the medium and has continued working and growing her artistic style, attending workshops with many international watercolor artists including Mel Stabin, Barbara Nechis, Frank Francese, Pat Weaver, and Susan Webb Tregay. Her work has been shown in exhibitions from Maine to Idaho and is in international collections. Kristin was invited to be a Board Member of the Transparent Watercolor Society and served as the Marketing/PR co-chair for 5 years. She has won awards in national juried shows and is a Signature Member of the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club of New York and the New England Watercolor Society and is a retired signature member of the Idaho Watercolor Society.

Postcards From A Pandemic

Please join us for live readings, a slide show and the opportunity to share your thoughts and experiences of living through the pandemic.

This book is a story told by many voices about life during the pandemic against the backdrop of the beauty and splendor of Cape Cod. With over 300 submissions from every town across the Cape, both novice and professional artists and authors share their stories through visual and literary art forms. The anthology evokes memories of our universal experience and emotions – fear, loneliness and despair coexisting with hope and even the ability to find humor during this challenging time.
