Event Description (more details are better!)
Church Tours
The Church of the Transfiguration is a contemporary expression of an ancient fourth-century style of architecture. Constructed of Minnesota limestone, it features a richly integrated iconographic program that includes stone, bronze, glass, mosaic, and fresco. Guided tours of the church are offered on Monday - Saturday (closed Wednesday) from 10 am to 4 PM. On Fridays, following the 3pm Tour, there is an organ demonstration on the E.M. Skinner Organ in the Church.

When: May 30, 2018 12am to May 30, 2019 12am in Cambridge, MA
Kalahari Perspectives: Anthropology, Photography, and the Marshall Family
The new exhibition will explore the photographic representation of Kalahari people known as the Ju/'hoansi and /Gwi of Namibia. Once pejoratively called Bushmen, they have been--throughout history--photographed and otherwise imaged in an effort to exploit and colonize them. In the 1950s, the Marshall family, based in Cambridge, MA, launched an effort to document the lives of these people before they were forever transformed. Culled from over 45,000 images, Kalahari Perspectives presents a select subset of the Marshalls' photography and guides visitors through a process of actively "reading" the images to better understand their potential to transform perception.

When: Sep 29, 2018 12am to Mar 31, 2019 12am in Cambridge, MA
