Casting a wider net for who? Special education service providers are already double their capacity

Cut the bullcrap admin positions at DAB! Unless you have data on WHAT they have done- they can go

Very disappointed that Zoom attendees were not allowed to comment

Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month 🗓️

Let’s celebrate the diverse cultures and histories of Asian and Pacific Islander communities! Their stories are integral parts of American History. By celebrating their contributions, we enrich our understanding of our nations history.

Did you know that the concept of “labor rights” in the U.S. owes much to the activism of Asian immigrants? From the early Chinese laborers advocating for fair wages to the Filipino farmworkers igniting the fight for better working conditions, their legacy continues to inspire. 👏

Recently, the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council (SSAC) held its second to last meeting of the school year at the Boys & Girls Club of Worcester.

SSAC is composed of student volunteers from each of our WPS high schools. The members have been working on their year-long action project that centers on empowering, elevating, and amplifying student voices.

The SSAC has developed a survey for middle and high school students district-wide to gather data pertaining to student perspectives on the hiring process of new staff who will work in our schools.

The data collected was analyzed at this most recent meeting by students and used to develop a student-voice questionnaire that the Human Resources Department and hiring managers can use to include student voice district-wide when hiring new school-based staff.

Great job to all involved in SSAC this year!Image attachmentImage attachment+7Image attachment
