DINNER & A MOVIE
FRESH FROZEN. Tony Nguyen, Director An intimate look at a small, Black-owned sandwich shop in a fast changing neighborhood in Oakland, California. The short documentary follows Teena Johnson, a 62 year-old woman who makes "the best fish sandwich in The Town." But everything around her little shop is rapidly developing to cater to young, affluent professionals, and the future of her business is uncertain due to skyrocketing rents. As American cities struggle to address issues of affordability and displacement, the film offers an uplifting portrait of an individual's grit and determination to fulfill dreams in the face of a shifting urban landscape. HEADMASTER. Director, Debo Johnson A barbershop owner is faced with a tough decision when his neighborhood starts to get upgraded and his shop gets put up for sale by the Landlord. ONE EIGHTIETH OF ZANG TIANVI. Director Shuhan Fan When Zhang Tianyi, a 25-year-old Mao Zedong fan, graduates from the most prestigious law school in China in 2014, he is one of 8 million young Chinese who compete for new jobs in Beijing. To stand out, Zhang Tianyi makes an outrageous career choice: He opens a small restaurant to sell rice noodles in the style of his hometown in Hunan. But people walk into his restaurant not because of the food, but because of the star that he is: The bombastic iconoclast has attracted more than half a million social media followers, by promoting his philosophy and branding himself as the Great Leader of this communist economic kingdom. The controversial character with his unconventional success is a manifestation of the conflicts and struggles in China's millennial generation. PINEAPPLE DIARIES. Directed by Paloma Valenzuela Three women contemplate brunch on a beautiful sunny day in Boston but everywhere is booked.

Women Who Lunch - Monday, July 17
Women Who Lunch is a semi-monthly luncheon series held on alternating Mondays and Thursdays in the Brookline/JP area. We vary venues and menus, but our purpose remains the same: to get to know other Lady Bosses, and be a locus of mutual support and celebration. To that end, we'll have an informal agenda at each lunch: introductions, current projects, challenges, and opportunities. Bring your business cards, opportunities and challenges - and be prepared to make some great connections! On Monday July 17, join us at West on Centre, 1732 Centre Street in West Roxbury, from 12-1:30. To be alerted about upcoming lunches, join the list. I look forward to seeing you at one - or all! - of the Women Who Lunch events!

Historic New England invites students to explore the diverse architecture of Boston this summer from a modern glass skyscraper to a seventeenth century wooden house. Join us as we explore all the unique shapes, styles, and materials that create a city. Using Historic New England properties and city buildings, students will identify geometric shapes, discuss design and building techniques, and use a paper shape to make a cityscape to take with them. This program also encourages students to think about what a city needs in relationship to the environment and growing population.

Vagina Monologues - presented by Haley House Bakery Cafe & Vday Belmont
The Vagina Monologues written by Eve Ensler, are both funny and powerfully touching. They are real life stories told by women worldwide of all ages and from all socio-economic and cutural backrounds. Eve wanted women to stop being embarrassed about their vagina's and their bodies as a whole so she decided to do something about it.  She asked women around the world questions like, "How they felt about their vaginas," and "If their vagina's could talk, what would it say"?.  Their answers, emotions and stories varied and through these powerful testimonies, Eve profoundly created The Vagina Monologues.
