April Book Discussion

The group chooses from a list of titles given out the month before to decide what book will be read and copies of the book are available at the information desk. Death Cafe
April 29, 2024 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm<p>Have you ever wanted to talk about death but don’t know where to start? The Malden Public Library will be hosting its first Death Cafe on Monday April 29th starting at 6pm. If you’ve never heard of them before, a Death Cafe is a group directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counseling session.</p><p>At a Death Cafe people, often strangers, gather to eat cake, drink tea and discuss death. The Real Cinco de Mayo Story (bilingual storytime)

Cinco de Mayo - the 5th of May! Is this the date when Mexico celebrates independence? Learn the true history behind the often-misunderstood holiday. What does Cinco de Mayo mean to Mexicans and to the US? When did the celebration start?
This 3-part program, presented in both English and Spanish, is designed to be fun, energetic, and interactive, with 1) storytelling, 2) arts and craft activity, and 3) singing, dancing, or a dynamic game. Appropriate for ages 5-8.
