Welcome to St. Mary’s Parish

We are so happy and blessed to have you visit our website.  St. Mary’s is a parish deeply rooted in the mission of the Church, where prayer and the sacraments are at the center of what we do.  Our magnificent upper Church, dedicated in 1900, is the heart of our parish.  In the lower level of the Church you will find Mary Hall, where many parish events take place.  There you will also see the Life House, the location of our very vibrant Life Teen Youth Ministry Program, which is in its 21st year.  The Parish Center houses the parish offices, and is located in the brick building behind the Church.  The rectory is next to the Church.  It is the residence of the parish priests, as well as for other priests with responsibilities throughout the Archdiocese.  The priests and entire staff are here for you.

 Church & Chapel

The Church is open daily from 7:00 am – 6:00 pm & Saint Joseph Chapel is open daily to the public for Perpetual Adoration from 6:00 am – 11:00 pm  (The Church & Chapel are handicap accessible by the rear parking lot).

Make St. Mary’s Your Home

We extend an invitation for you to join our parish. Each parishioner plays an important role in our life together. The celebration of the Eucharist is the heart of all activities. Come share your faith and yourself in one of our parish ministries. Please know the doors of this Church and our hearts are open to you at all times.

An Easter Prayer

May your people exult forever, O God, in renewed youthfulness of spirit, so that, rejoicing now in the restored glory of our adoption, we may look forward in confident hope to the rejoicing of the day of resurrection. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God for ever and ever.  Amen.  ~ Collect Prayer for the Third Sunday of Easter

I hope you are having a happy and blessed Easter season!  Remember that this liturgical season lasts for fifty days, so the celebration continues until Pentecost Sunday, which this year is on May 19th.   May it be a time of great peace of joy to all!

An Easter Prayer
May the glory
and the promise
of this joyous time of year

And may Christ,
Our Risen Savior,

most abundantly
and be your loving guide.

New Ministry Starting at St. Mary’s

It is estimated that 16% of the world’s population lives with a disability – and is one of the largest, under-reached people groups in the world for the Gospel.” ~ Tim Tibow, former NFL quarterback.

Please join us at St. Mary’s in our effort to bring the Gospel and the gift of faith formation to all people of all abilities.  In an effort to do this, we will be praying the Rosary with families with members of all abilities, with a special invitation to those with any disabilities to join.  We will pray the Rosary once a month in the accessible Life House, starting on Saturday, May 11th at 5:15 pm.  Our Lord told His Disciples: “let the children come to Me,” so let us bring all His children to Him and His Mother in this beautiful prayer.  For more information and/or questions, please reach out to Nancy at 781.326.0550, ext. 139 or email her at: nlmccormick4@gmail.com

Saint Mary’s has Perpetual Adoration in Saint Joseph’s Chapel

Jesus waits for you in the Blessed Sacrament ~ Let your heart be moved by Him!

He waits to see you and longs for your friendship. Spending time with Him in Adoration not only radiates grace to the world and gives life to your soul, but it gives His heart joy! He waits to hear your needs and concerns. Jesus wants to hear about what’s important to you. Confidently bring it to Him in prayer. Talk to Him as your best friend. He cares about you! He waits to encounter your love and is present in the Eucharist and in every person you meet. Reach out each day with acts of kindness to others. It transforms hearts and helps others tangibly experience the goodness of God! Pray to Him daily. Visit Jesus in the tabernacle and Eucharistic Adoration. Let your heart be moved by Him!

There is a new addition to St. Joseph Chapel!  As you enter the Chapel, you will notice posters of Eucharistic Miracles.  Please take a moment and check out these extraordinary miracles.  Periodically the posters will be changed to introduce you to the various miracles.

Wisdom of God in the Lives of the Saints

by Fr. Dominic

What have I done for Christ? What am I doing for Christ? What ought I do for Christ? -St Stanislaus Kostka

These questions help us to have a fruitful daily examination of our relationship with Christ. The first two questions are set within the context of the third question. We ought to know what is asked of us and then see whether or not we are conforming our ways to His. For example, Christ said to his disciples, “You shall love the Lord your God with you whole heart, and with your whole soul, and with your whole mind” (Mt. 22:37), and “If you love me, keep my commandments” (Jn 14:15). On the one hand, we are commanded to love God above all things. On the other hand, loving God does not mean doing whatever pleases us, but rather it is holding fast to the commandments and living them out. Once this is understood, we now have to ask ourselves if our past actions have lived up to the will of God or if they have fallen short? If we have not done well in loving God and keeping His ways, have we repented of our sinful past lives and turned back to Him and walked in the Truth? The third question “what ought I do for Christ?” requires a real, concrete and affirmative action. Our hearts and minds ought to be of one accord. It is not enough to think that we love Christ when our heart is far from loving Him. If we wish to be His disciples then we have to deny ourselves, take up our cross and follow Him (Mt. 16:24). Knowing the “ought” will hopefully help us to correct the past vices and pave a virtuous path for the present so that our love for Jesus is truly authentic, rooted in reality. May we seek to know what we ought to do for Christ and have the strength to do it well out of great love for Him.
